Kusum has worked in the development sector since 1999, designing, leading, and expanding programs. Initially, she spent a decade working in Odisha with vulnerable communities. For the next 13 years, she served as a Senior Leader at Magic Bus India Foundation and Sampark Foundation, tackling complex development issues related to education and livelihood in India.

Since Kusum’s work involves travel, she enjoys using this time to read, write, and contemplate simple solutions for intricate problems. She is passionate about learning about different cultures and countries and enjoys exploring them through the lens of language, food, and gender. Every year, she adds a new shade of color to her hair, which is gradually turning grey.

As Regional Director & CEO of India, Kusum will lead Miracle’s efforts to expand its impact and reach new geographies.
